The main body is a horizontal rotating cylinder slightly inclined (typically 3-5°) to the horizontal line, with staggered lifting plates (flightings) welded on the inner wall to repeatedly lift and disperse the material, increasing the contact area with hot air.
The equipment mainly consists of the rotating cylinder body, supporting device, transmission device, sealing device, feeding device, discharging device, and dust removal system. Heating methods can be direct heating (hot gas directly contacts the material) or indirect heating (heat is transferred through the cylinder wall). Heat sources can be steam, electric heating, fuel oil, coal-fired hot air furnace, or heavy oil.
During the drying process, wet material is fed from the inlet end and slowly moves toward the discharge end as the cylinder rotates. Hot air (or flue gas) contacts the material in co-current or counter-current flow for heat and mass transfer. Moisture is evaporated and discharged by the exhaust system. The lifting plates inside the cylinder continuously lift and shower the material during rotation, forming a uniform material curtain and significantly improving drying efficiency.
